Louis Vuitton organized its sixth UNICEF gala with great success.
On Tuesday 12 January in Los Angeles, Louis Vuitton organized its sixth gala of UNICEF and has raised more than $ 2.5 million for humanitarian nonprofit organization. Michael Burke, president of Louis Vuitton explains; “Together with UNICEF we can make a real difference for children in vulnerable situations.”
It notes that the maison has designed two jewels that will be sold for 500 euros each, of which $ 300 from each sale will go to Unicef. The jewels involved are a pendant and a bracelet with a lock impossible to force. They are designed by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect the most prized possessions of their customers.
Among the guests at the charity gala are Doona Ba, Tao Okamoto, Lea Seydou, Xavier Dolan, Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez, Adele Exarchopoulos, Miranda Kerr, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Connell, among other influencers’ profiles. (All wore pieces designed by Nicholas Ghesquiere).
Some participants gave their promise to help the cause and goodwill ambassador for UNICEF David Beckham, was honored with the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Leadership award. The same has been presented by Elton John that wonderful night.
The social media campaign is called #MAKEAPROMISE. The firm aims to encourage the largest possible number of customers to join its alliance with the ONG. The big goal is to raise funds to support children exposed to conflict, disease, natural disasters and other emergencies or humanitarian crisis. It seems a fantastic idea in the frivolous world of fashion .!
